Best technological innovation in payments - B2C


Open to: : All banks, telecom operators, government ministries and retailers operating in the Middle East, Central and South Asia and North Africa.

The Middle East will be defined by the following countries for the purpose of the award - GCC countries (to include Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates), Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Palestine Territories and Turkey. 

Central and South Asia will be defined by the following countries for the purpose of the award - Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

North Africa will be defined by the following countries for the purpose of the award - Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania.

This category will recognise the most innovative technological advancement to payments that has helped to deliver an innovative product or service to the B2C market. 
This could be the launch of a mobile, digital, wearable, card or omnichannel payment initiative since January 2017. 
Their success will be judged on the initiative’s usability, technological innovation, consumer uptake, multi-channel approach, its launch and its impact on service innovation, transaction quantities, revenue and quality of service.

Judges will be looking for evidence of technological innovation and how the deployment of the technology has led to a successful product launch.   


Entrants will be judged on their answers to the following questions; (Answers to each question will be cut off after 250 words)
  1. Name of your company and the specific technology you are nominating. Please mention whether it is a soft or full launch 
  2. Name key partners and suppliers involved with the project 
  3. Describe the new technology that is used in the payment offering 
  4. What channels is the technology currently available on? 
  5. When was it released into the market and what has been the customer uptake? 
  6. Describe the 3 unique features that have enhanced the payment experience for customers
  7. How are you securing the payment and ensuring the safety of your customer’s data? 
  8. List the 3 key success factors of payment initiative launch
