Dr. Caldwell is the Associate Vice President, Vaccine Research & Education at Meharry Medical College in Nashville TN. He is Professor of Biomedical Sciences, Global Public Health and serves as Program Director for the newly revived Master of Science in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) degree program at the Meharry School of Graduate Studies which will be enrolling its next class in the fall of 2026. Dr Caldwell is a devoted clinician and teacher and serves as an investigator for many clinical research studies. He has more than 25 years experience in public health, health administration, biopharma and vaccine research. He previously served as Director of Scientific Affairs & Public Health, Vaccines for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) focusing on adult immunization and helping to launch the new shingles vaccine, Shingrix.
