With 100GW of additional capacity forecast by 2030 , and a ten-fold increase in renewable energy generation, Vietnam is serious about the future of its energy sector. No wonder, with 14% annual electricity demand growth.
This growth will be met by a number of different energy sources, including solar energy and thermal power generation, but wind will also play a key role, with plans to reach 6GW of wind generation capacity by 2030.
With installed wind capacity now sitting at almost 500GW globally, 54GW of which were installed in 2016 alone, wind can now generate around 5% of the world’s electricity demand. Vietnam recognises this opportunity and is supporting in-country wind energy growth. If it achieves its target, Vietnam will be the largest wind energy market in southeast Asia, doubling Thailand’s 3GW by 2036 target and surpassing the Philippines’ target of 2.345MW by 2030.
Building on our track record of bringing together the Philippines’ largest energy event - The Solar Show Philippines and Power & Electricity World Philippines, which attracted over 5,200 attendees and almost 150 exhibitors in May 2017, we bring you Vietnam’s most exciting energy show. Following a smaller gathering of 300+ policy makers, developers, financiers and utilities in Hanoi in October 2017, we’re taking it to the next level in 2018.
Moving to Vietnam’s commercial capital, Ho Chi Minh City, The Wind Show Vietnam, Power & Electricity World Vietnam 2018 and The Solar Show Vietnam 2018 will bring you 100+ exhibitors showcasing world-class energy solutions and technologies and 1,500+ attendees.
