Middle East Rail has grown to become the largest and most established rail event in the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and South Asia. It is the only rail event to be run in partnership with the UAE government, hosting more regional and international government representatives than any other rail show.
Middle East Rail was born. In light of government mandates to start feasibility studies on both freight and mass transit projects, the necessity for a regional forum was created.
The event had cemented its position as the annual meeting place for the region’s rail industry. The launch of the Dubai Metro the previous year, helped to elevate the event’s status.
Middle East Rail took the bold decision to move the event to the Dubai World Trade Centre. It would transpire that this move would be the beginning of the event’s prolific journey to the top.
It was a magnanimous year for Middle East Rail. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, we firmly established ourselves as the most important rail event for the region, by signing the inaugural partnership with both the Ministry of Public Works UAE, and the National Transport Authority UAE.
Middle East Rail reached new heights. Further establishing our unparalleled position in the market, we signed a strategic partnership with Etihad Rail and Oman Rail. We also expanded our reach of rail projects into both Central Asia and North Africa.
Middle East Rail will further establish its dominance in the regional market, expanding and deepening its reach on all active transport projects. Welcoming a truly international audience, the conference acts as the leading platform for high-level rail leaders to engage with the community and to tackle the biggest challenges in the industry.
