With 90% electrification in 2017, a 100-million strong population and a fast-growing economy, the Philippines’ energy industry is truly a land of opportunity.
7,000MW of generation capacity will be added in the next 5 years, and power generation capacity will be doubled by 2030. Add these facts to a drive to bring reliable electricity access to the 16-million people that live without it, through rural and off-grid electrification, and a 15.3GW renewable energy generation target, and it’s not hard to see that the Philippines is serious about its energy future.
This drive to increase generation and electrification presents a huge opportunity for energy storage. Energy storage capacity is expected to grow 47% globally in 2017 alone, following record-breaking growth in 2016. And costs are decreasing - Bloomberg New Energy Finance expects battery technology to fall to $120 per kWh by 2030, from $1,000 in 2010.
Building on the incredible success of Power & Electricity World Philippines and The Solar Show Philippines, which brought together over 5,000 people in Manila in 2017, we’re delighted to introduce The Energy Storage Show Philippines , co-located with these events in 2018.
Whether you’re looking at utility storage, C&I storage, micro-grid solutions, co-located solar and storage solutions, or simply evaluating the opportunity this could represent for your business, you should join us at the Philippines’ largest energy show for our biggest ever edition.
Energy storage may be the most important technology in the world right now
