Lauren P. Kipaan, Library Director, Benguet State University

Mr. Kipaan has 16 years of experience in the library world. Lauren is now serving his 15th year as employee of Benguet State University. Lauren served as section head for almost eleven (11) years and more than four years as library director. Mr. Kipaan is a digital library enthusiast, training organizer, library consultant, BSU library Social media administrator, a Librarian license review lecturer, and Library science instructor. Kipaan attended the managerial International Workshop on Information Literacy in Belgium and which he is one of the few selected seven to join the workshop on December 8-20, 2014. He became an international paper presenter during the 5th Rizal International Conference at Ateneo de Manila University in 2012. Mr. Kipaan is very active in numerous librarians association, organizing trainings and seminars for which he basically manages all the operation of seminars or forums. In 2013-2014 and 2017-2018, he became National Board of Trustees and President of Philippine Librarians Association-Cordillera Chapter for two (2) years for which he overseeing the whole regional organization. He became also the Press Relation Officer of Agricultural Librarians Association of the Philippines for (2) years.

In 2003, Kipaan created and overlooked the two student organizations. He is the founder and adviser of Library and Information Science Association for three (3) years in which he overlooked and management the whole operations until the organization became stable. He also created, the Library Club, a university based student organization in 2010 and became an adviser for three years.
