Who is organising Payments Iran 2016?

The event is organised by Terrapinn, a global B2B media company with over 25 years’ experience in event organising. Terrapinn’s Middle East office, based in Dubai, are managing the Iranian event, building on 17 years of success with the Cards & Payments Middle East run in the UAE.

Why is Terrapinn organising this event?

Following the signing of the historic Joint Comprehensive Protocol of Action (JCPOA) in July 2015, sanctions related to Iran’s nuclear programme are expected to be lifted in the coming months.

The future is about interoperability, collaboration and connecting the Iranian payments ecosystem with their international peers to enhance both citizen and consumer experience.

Payments Iran provides the platform to showcase genuine innovation first hand and to help those looking to launch into, or grow their market share in Iran.

What is the current status of sanctions?

  • Except for certain interim relief measures, most sanctions will continue to remain in force until the implementation of the JCPOA, the date of which is as yet unknown.
  • As a result, Payments Iran 2016 is a forum for information gathering and networking only and business transactions may be restricted by sanctions.
  • While Terrapinn has sought advice with respect to our own compliance with sanctions regulations in convening this event, Terrapinn takes no responsibility for the status or activities of participants, nor their consequences.
  • Delegates and sponsors must seek their own legal advice on the nature of activities in which they may or may not engage. The defined activities vary from country to country.

To whom will I pay my delegate or sponsorship fee?

Delegate and sponsorship fees will be paid to Terrapinn’s bank account in the UAE. Any profit generated by the event will accrue solely to Terrapinn and will be retained in the U.A.E.
