Emma Dean, Director, Physician And Early Phase Oncology, Astra Zeneca

Dr. Emma Dean is a Director Physician specialising in Early Clinical Drug Development and joined AstraZeneca in April 2017. Prior to this, she was medical lead of the Experimental Cancer Medicine Team at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and The University of Manchester, leading the unit through fourfold growth in patient trial recruitment and establishing an international reputation for early phase clinical research as a global Chief / Principal Investigator on several notable first-in-class, first-in-human studies. During her time in academia, she was Partnerships & Collaborations Lead and point contact for early phase oncology alliances with industry and contract research organisations. She also formerly represented Manchester on the Cancer Research UK Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMC) Joint Steering Committee which is a UK-wide network of 20 ECMCs, an industry-academic alliance in which she continues to participate on behalf of AstraZeneca.
