Kurt Menal, Managing Director, British Virgin Islands Airport Authority

Kurt A.G. Menal is a career aviation professional whose diverse experience spans the areas of Airport Operations and Management, Aerodrome Regulation, Economic Regulation, Air Traffic Services, Aviation Security, among others.  Kurt is a staunch advocate of improving Caribbean intra-regional connectivity having worked extensively throughout the region.  His last assignment was with the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago where he served as the Deputy General Manager responsible for the operations of the Piarco International Airport.  He is currently the Managing Director of the British Virgin Islands Airports Authority Ltd and he is responsible for the management of a system of three airports.  Kurt was instrumental in the BVI receiving its first nonstop commercial flight at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport from the US mainland in June 2023.  Mr. Menal holds an MSc in Air Transport Management from the City University London and is accredited by the International Civil Aviation Organization and Airports Council International as an International Airport Professional (IAP). Kurt is a national of Saint Lucia.
