A Master of Arts in Political Science /Public Administration with a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Sector Management from Leeds University, UK, Mr. P.S. Nair has over 37 years of diverse experience in the airport sector - both in the public and private domains. He has held several senior positions such as Airport Director of Trivandrum, Mumbai and Delhi Airports, Executive Director of Cargo, Commercial and Key Infrastructure Development departments overseeing the respective functions on a pan-India basis with the Airports Authority of India. His last position in the Airports Authority of India was as fulltime Board Member responsible for Personnel, Administration, Legal, Commercial and Land Management functions - an ACC (Appointments Committee of the Cabinet) appointment. He has been ex-Officio Director on the Board of Directors of Hotel Leela Venture and Radisson Hotel. Mr. Nair has also served in several High Level Task Forces, Committees, Working Groups and Advisory Committees formed by the Government of India on various facets of Civil Aviation. Currently he is also Chairman of the Airport Fuel Farm Joint Venture Company and a Director on the Board of other JV Companies. At GMR Group, he has held the position of Chief Executive Officer of GMR Hyderabad International Airport, India’s first Greenfield airport to be built under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative. He played an instrumental role in successful commissioning of the Hyderabad international airport ahead of schedule, under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Kiran Grandhi – Business Chairman, Airports. He then moved as CEO of Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd. where he was responsible for the operation, overall management of the country’s busiest IGI Airport as well as operational readiness, integration and successful commissioning of the state-of-the-art, new Terminal 3. Mr. Nair is also the Chairman of Delhi Aviation Fuel Farm (P) Ltd. – a Joint Venture of the PSU Oil Companies and DIAL for Aviation fuelling. He is currently the CEO of the GMR Airports Holding Ltd., - the holding company that oversees the functioning of the four Airports in the GMR’s Airport portfolio viz, Delhi & Hyderabad International Airports in India, Male International Airport in Maldives and Istanbul Airport in Turkey. He is also the Director on the Board of several other GMR led Airport Joint Venture Companies. Mr. Nair is an elected Director of the Airport Council International (apex body of global Airports) Regional Board for the Asia Pacific Region. He is also the elected Chairman of “ACI Asia-Pacific Small Airports Network” promoted by the Airport Council International.
