It’s now an omni-channel world, and to succeed in this developing environment, retailers need to invest in to new technology!

About 2 years ago Dansk Supermarked realised that its non-food e-commerce website was growing quickly and while the new automated distribution warehouse could cope with increased orders, unfortunately its legacy ERP, e-commerce platform and outsourced e-commerce distribution couldn’t. To stay competitive they needed a solution.

Why bring this up? Well, because I think the Dansk Supermarked story is a perfect example of how an omni-channel fulfilment solution was quickly and efficiently achieved by working with the right partner.

Today, Dansk Supermarked’s supply chain is not only flexible and efficient, but every system speaks to one another in real time. Further to this, the new systems have been seamlessly integrated into the legacy systems, and no one felt the need to rip it all out and start again. But most importantly the Dansk Supermarked customers are happy. So how did they manage the turn around?

The five areas DAI and Dansk Supermarked focussed on were as follows:

  1. Global Inventory
  2. Order Fulfilment Determination
  3. Specialist eCommerce WMS, running two sites
  4. Carrier Management System
  5. Replenishment Service
