Dr Franck Chevalier joined Analysys Mason in 2005 and currently holds the position of Head of Technical Consulting. He previously held the position of Design Authority for Optical networking with Nortel Networks which then was the market leader in optical network equipment and network solutions. Franck has 25 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry, spanning pre-sales, research and consulting. Franck has significant experience in the due diligence of submarine cable systems and stakeholders having led the Due Diligence of the ACE submarine cable system on behalf of an African Government who wanted to fund the consortium, led the due diligence of the WACS cable on behalf of the South African Government. Franck also acted as the Technical lead on a project which consisted in separating Botswana Telecom Company (BTC) into a wholesale and a retail company. Since BTC is a member of two submarine cable consortium (EASSy and WACS), the separation process included separating the right of access to the submarine cable systems. Franck holds a B.Eng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (1996) and a Ph.D. in Optical Networking (2000) from the University of Strathclyde (UK).
