Colin is the General Manager of Cloud Network Engineering for Azure Fiber at Microsoft. In this role, Colin leads the expansion and enablement of Hollow Core Fiber (HCF) technology, focusing on making HCF scalable and deployable at scale. Previously, Colin served as Vice President for Hyperscaler Managed Services at Infinera. Before that, Colin held several leadership roles at Ciena, including Cloud Networking & Submarine Sales Leader for EMEA, Director of Global Business Development for Submarine Solutions, and Director of Global Submarine Systems Engineering. Colin also worked at Corning Cable Systems as Systems Engineering Manager, Business Development Manager, and Service Development Manager.. Colin has a diverse background in the telecom industry, with experience spanning data centers, hyperscalers, submarine networks, and tier 1 telecommunications markets. Colin holds a BSc in Physics, an MSc in Optical Electronics, and a PhD in Fibre Optics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
