Driving Sustainability in Malaysia’s Built Environment

The Green Building Index (GBI) is Malaysia’s first and most established green building rating system, created to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, constructed, and operated for a sustainable future. Officially launched in 2009, GBI was developed through the collaboration of two of Malaysia’s most respected professional bodies: Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM, the Malaysian Institute of Architects) and the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM). This partnership combines architectural vision with engineering expertise, providing a holistic approach to sustainability in the built environment.
