Chavan Dabeedin, Transmission & Distribution Manager, Central Electricity Board Mauritius

Chavan DABEEDIN is a registered Professional Engineer with over 26 years of experience in the Electricity Utility Business. He is currently the Manager of the Transmission and Distribution Department, the Corporate planning & Research department as well as the Non-Utility Generation Department of the Central Electricity Board. Chavan Dabeedin holds a B-Tech Hons in Mechanical Engineering, a MBA and a MSc Electrical Power Systems with distinction from the University of Bath, England. Mr Dabeedin has authored several Papers namely 1. On Electricity Regulation and Reform in Mauritius published by Institution of Public and Private Partnership, USA in May 2006, 2.  on “Genetic Algorithms for Optimal Reactive Power Compensation Planning on the National Grid of UK”. This was published by IEEE power systems transaction, USA & UK in February 2005. 3. On “Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm for Optimal Reactive Power Compensation on the IEEE 30-Bus System”. This was published by Greece power systems transaction September 2003. Mr Dabeedin is a Member of the following of the following:
1. Institution of Electrical Technology, UK, MIET 
2. Member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, USA, MIEEE
3. Member of the Institution of Diesel and Gas Turbine Engineers, UK, MIDGTE
4. Registered Professional Engineer with the Council of Engineers Mauritius since Nov 1993
