Justin Bonsey, Strategic Lead, Resource Recovery, Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC)

Justin Bonsey is Strategic Lead, Resource Recovery at the Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC), whose 11 member councils in metro Sydney manage about 20% of the waste in NSW. Overseeing regional projects on infrastructure planning, waste data and regulatory reform, he helped develop the current framework for Procure Recycled: Paving the Way, a major local government-led procurement of asphalt with recycled crushed glass. Founder of the national reuse initiative Responsible Cafes, and formerly a campaigner for a container deposit scheme and bans on single-use plastics, he currently sits on the EPA?s Local Government Advisory Group and a number of steering groups for circular economy initiatives and infrastructure planning.
