Summer Steward is an ESG leader with more than 15 years’ experience spanning transport and logistics, energy, mining, and environmental compliance across Australia. As Sustainability Project Manager at Team Global Express, she leads one of the country’s most ambitious freight decarbonisation initiatives—the Australian Renewable Energy Agency-funded “Depot of the Future” project at Bungarribee, NSW. In this role, Summer has overseen the rollout of critical electrification infrastructure to support a 1MW battery energy storage system and a fleet of 60 battery electric trucks—positioning the site as a benchmark for large-scale fleet transition. Her work focuses on bridging operational logistics and breaking down barriers to enable successful electric fleet integration. . Prior to joining Team Global Express, Summer spent eight years as Environment Manager for AGL Energy’s Bayswater and Liddell power stations, where she led compliance and environmental improvement programs in one of Australia’s most emissions-intensive sectors. At MOVE, Summer will share practical insights from the frontline of fleet electrification—covering infrastructure challenges, operational learnings, and the realities of transitioning heavy transport at scale. Her core message is simple: energy is a valuable and costly resource—use it efficiently, take a long-term view, and never lose sight of the people driving the transition.
