Phillipa Watson, Senior Research Fellow, Australian National University

Phillipa Watson is a senior (socio-technical) Research Fellow at the ANU Centre for Energy Systems (ACES), with over 25 years’ experience investigating renewable energy, electric vehicle, built environment, and electricity system transitions. Her work focuses on the social and decision making dimensions of distributed and coordinated energy systems, including household, stakeholder and community participation in emerging services such as virtual power plants, flexible demand and vehicle to grid systems. She leads and contributes to long-term, applied research in collaboration with government, industry, and communities, using multidisciplinary, collaborative approaches to understand real-world impacts and support effective, people-centred change. Her work aims to advance knowledge and contribute to meaningful societal outcomes.
