Daniel Laury, Chief Executive Officer, Udelv

Daniel Laury – Visionary Entrepreneur, Tech Innovator, and Philanthropist Daniel Laury is a trailblazing entrepreneur and the founder & CEO of Udelv, a Silicon Valley company at the forefront of autonomous delivery technology. With a keen ability to foresee industry shifts, he identified a major gap between the rapid advancements in self-driving technology and the stagnant state of last-mile delivery—and set out to bridge it. In 2017, Laury assembled a team of elite engineers and pioneered the world’s first driverless delivery vehicle designed for public roads. Just a year later, in January 2018, Udelv made history by conducting the first-ever autonomous delivery on public roads in San Mateo, California. By 2021, Udelv’s second-generation vehicle had completed over 40,000 automated deliveries across California, Arizona, and Texas. Then came another leap forward. In 2022, Udelv unveiled the Transporter—the world’s first cabin-less autonomous delivery vehicle capable of highway speeds—solidifying its position as a global leader in automated logistics.   Beyond Udelv: A Serial Entrepreneur with a Global Impact Laury is no stranger to disruptive innovation. Before Udelv, he built and led multiple successful ventures:

  • Geary LSF, a $120M global digital advertising agency with 240 employees across the world, which he sold in 2014.
  • Luckysurf.com, the world’s first free online lottery, which skyrocketed to become the 17th most visited website globally in 2000, and was successfully acquired in 2008.
His career began at the prestigious investment bank Brown Brothers Harriman, where he honed his expertise in finance and global markets across New York and Paris. Across his career, Laury raised over $100 million in funding.   An Investor, Philanthropist, and Cultural Patron Beyond building companies, Laury is a strategic investor in cutting-edge technology through his venture capital fund, The Explorer Group. He also founded Halt Homelessness, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to tackling homelessness in San Francisco. A native of Paris, France, Laury holds an MBA from ESSEC, one of the top business schools in Europe. He has also served as Co-Chair of SEMPO San Francisco and is an active patron of the San Francisco Opera and Symphony. He resides in Tiburon, California, with his wife and four children, where he continues to push the boundaries of technology, business, and social impact.
