Fleet Asset Management Leader & Public Transport Specialist Christian Severino is a seasoned Asset Management Leader and Public Transport Specialist with 25 years of experience across government and private sectors. He has built a career delivering high-performing, sustainable, and operationally resilient transport solutions, with deep expertise in fleet strategy, asset optimisation, and maintenance reform. In his current leadership role at City of Sydney Council, Christian is driving the transformation of the City’s fleet to support its net-zero commitments, tripling the electric vehicle fleet which includes EV passenger vehicles, electric footway sweepers, waste collection buggies, and is preparing to commission the first large-scale deployment of electric tipper trucks in a local government fleet. Christian has led significant improvements in fleet operations and performance, focussing on HVNL compliance and uplifting fleet reliability in high demand operational settings. As a seasoned People Leader he has been instrumental in the roll out and delivery of workforce engagement apps to more than 3000 frontline staff—setting a new standard for digital connectivity and frontline empowerment in the transport sector. He also brings extensive experience in major organisational change, having led some of Australia’s largest public transport transitions, including the full transfer of Newcastle’s bus and ferry services and the public-to-private transitions of Sydney Regions 6, 7, 8, and 9, encompassing over 4,000 employees and involving large-scale fleet and depot integration.
