DAVID BALMER Regional Director, Queensland for Acciona Construction David Balmer is the Regional Director, Queensland for Acciona Construction. David has over 30 years’ experience in the Australian construction and infrastructure industry, leading the successful delivery of nationally and internationally recognised projects across multiple sectors including roads, airports, rail, resources and marine with both public and private sector clients. A Brisbane local, David has proudly contributed to city-shaping infrastructure projects including the Goodwill Bridge, Eleanor Schonell Bridge and the Kingsford Smith Drive upgrade. As Regional Director QLD, David is responsible for ACCIONA Construction’s growth in the region and the delivery of major water, road, renewable and transport projects, including the Brisbane Metro project, Macintyre Wind Farm, Bruce Highway upgrades and the Coomera Connector and Hope Island Station projects. Currently David is a member of the Leadership Team for the Logan Gold Coast Faster Rail project which promises to build an exciting addition to Queensland’s transport network.  David is currently Chairman of the Board, Queensland Major Contractors Association (QMCA), the purpose of which is shaping the future of the construction industry in Queensland with the vision of a safe, attractive, rewarding industry David passionately advocates for community-focussed, safe, innovative and creative solutions to infrastructure delivery while ensuring clients quality outcomes are met.
