Jigar Sagar is a serial entrepreneur, visionary investor and strategic government advisor. He has launched and scaled over 31 ventures with a combined value of over $350 million. His success in creating businesses that merge technology with business solutions has made him a key architect of the UAE’s rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
Sagar’s parents emigrated from India to Sharjah, where his father finally acquired a jewellers’ store. Sagar studied for a degree in business administration at the American University of Dubai and obtained a master’s degree in financial management at the University of Melbourn, Australia.
His first job was as a finance manager at Creative Zone in Dubai, where he is currently Managing Partner. While working at Creative Zone, Sagar took over the running of a company the business had acquired and later managed the launch of a new public-private Freezone in the UAE, the first of its kind.
Sagar pitched the idea of further new public-private Freezones to various UAE governments, eventually winning the contract for two new Freezones. After establishing these as highly successful operations with cutting edge digitisation and other innovations, Sagar went on to launch a series of new ventures, including Set Hub (formerly Business Incorporation Zone), which has facilitated the creation of over 25,000 companies; Creative Zone Tax And Accounting; OSquare Communications Hub; the software development company EZMS; the no-code programming venture Appizap; the business outsourcing operation, Ocube; the al Taj medical centre; digital marketing company Créo; ecommerce platform MPatform; recruitment specialist Talent Higher; and others. He is also the founder of Triliv holdings, his investment holding company.
Sagar’s impact on the entrepreneurial landscape of the UAE has already helped and enabled over 250,000 entrepreneurs. During the CVID-19 pandemic, almost 5% of new business setups in the UAE were facilitated by Sagar’s initiatives. He currently employs over 3,000 people worldwide.
Sagar is now a prominent industry voice, speaking regularly at regional and global conferences. He has been featured in several leading publications and in 2024 was named one of “50 Indian Aces” in the UAE by Arabian Business magazine. His bi-weekly LinkedIn advice newsletter, “Entrepreneur’s Edge”, launched in 2024, has already acquired nearly 2,000 subscribers.
