Kendall grew up in Sydney and has had a lifelong interest in environment, planning and sustainability issues. This led him to gain university qualifications in environmental management and urban planning. His career of several decades has been in the areas of land use planning, transport planning and sustainability management. In this time he has worked for local councils, NSW Government agencies, universities and planning consultancies. Kendall currently works as a transport planner at Inner West Council and is undertaking a PhD part-time at the University of Sydney’s Institute for Transport & Logistics Studies (ITLS) to investigate good-practice car parking policy for transit-oriented development.
