Fatma El-Kassas is an Environmental Expert with more than 16 years of experience. She holds a M.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London, UK and a B.Sc. in Construction Engineering from the American University in Cairo. El-Kassas successfully completed a multitude of Environmental and Social Safeguards Instruments including Environmental and Social Management Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) for multinational corporations, governmental agencies, and international finance institutions like the UN Agencies, World Bank Group (WBG), International Financial Corporation (IFC), EIB and EBRD. She has wide knowledge of the World Bank Safeguards Policies, Environmental and Social Standards and the IFC Performance Standards. El Kassas’s experience includes environmental due diligence, environmental compliance, environmental monitoring, and ESIAs in different sectors. She has prepared more than 30 ESIAs in Afghanistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Tanzania, Ghana and Palestine.
