Wambui Njoroge is the Founder and Executive Director of Solar Mtaani, a registered Community Based Organisation in Kenya, that aims at promoting sustainable solar energy solutions in economic disadvantaged areas. This is through solar learning, construction of solar shops for rural women and, solar technologies like water pumping in off grid areas. She holds a BSc in Arts Degree in Social Sciences (Makerere University, Uganda) and an MSc in Conflict Resolution and Mediation (Tel-Aviv University, Israel). She has also trained with Remote Energy Institution on Women’s only solar system and fundamentals with energy storage unit 1&2, and Expanding DC solar systems with MPPT and AC systems fundamentals Unit 3 and 4. She has also participated at Micro Grid Academy in Decentralized Renewable Energy site selection and engineering, and Decentralized Renewables against Covid operation and maintenance trainings. She is responsible for the training programs provided at Kabete Rehabilitation Center and American Embassy Spaces in Nairobi, where she teaches a module on Participatory Rural Appraisal within the solar training program, by which she got the training at ETH University, Zurich Switzerland. She also works with the marginalized in the society as a mentor and a trainer in working towards empowering communities in alleviating poverty through solar technology. In 2017 she was a speaker at the 12th Global Business Network Conference, held in Washington DC, USA, in 2022 and 2023 she was also a speaker at Solar and Storage Live Birmingham Conference speaking on Reduction of Energy poverty through Solar technology in Kenya.
