Melville transitioned from his role as a maritime electronics fitter to renewable energy, leveraging years of teaching experience at Technical Vocational Training Colleges and University. At Cape Peninsula University of Technology's South African Renewable Energy Technology Centre (SARETEC), he supported teaching for Wind Turbine and Solar PV Technicians and contributed to the design of the ICT4APP. Having held leadership roles at a solar equipment distributor, Melville moved back into the industry in 2023 and currently serves as a Product Trainer at Enphase Energy's South African Emerging Markets team. His journey underscores his dedication to renewable energy education and innovation, reflecting a blend of hands-on experience and educational commitment, driven by a passion for sustainability in the solar energy sector.
