Helmi Hermain, Renewable Energy Lead, IPNLF

Mr Helmi Hermain is Renewable Energy Lead at the International Pole & Line Foundation (IPNLF), where he leads the development and deployment of the Solar Ice Maker, a solar-powered cold chain solution for small-scale tuna fishing communities. His work bridges renewable energy technology and sustainable fisheries, supporting coastal communities across Indonesia with low-carbon alternatives to diesel-dependent ice supply. His work sits at the intersection of renewable energy, cold chain resilience and one-by-one tuna fisheries, focusing on reducing diesel dependency, cutting post-harvest losses and strengthening the commercial position of small-scale fishers in low-carbon seafood markets.
