Theron Moonsamy, Managing Director and Principal Consultant, Green Environmental Engineering

Theron Moonsamy boasts over a decade of experience as both an engineer and sustainability consultant. He holds qualifications in Chemical Engineering (Honours), Environmental Engineering (MEng), and Business Strategy Management. Theron began his career in the engineering and mining sectors before transitioning into green technology and sustainability consulting. Throughout his career, Theron has assisted clients across a multitude of sectors, including IPPU, AFOLU, Energy and Transport, and ICT. Drawing from his extensive experience and education, he helps clients navigate their sustainability reporting, sustainable technology adoption, and decarbonisation journeys. He specialises in Green Hydrogen economics and project development, carbon accounting, decarbonisation strategies, value chain engagement, as well as financial modelling and reporting. Currently, Theron is a manager at Carbon Trust Africa, where he manages a portfolio of clients within the mining, metals and minerals sector in the business services branch. Before joining Carbon Trust, Theron served as a green technology and sustainability consultant at Green Environmental Engineering. As the director and principal consultant, he focused on carbon accounting, best available technology assessments, decarbonisation modelling, policy and regulation advisory, sustainable engineering, and green technology adaptation. Theron has built his career with insights from both sides of the sustainability debate. This unique perspective allows him to offer valuable advice to his clients, ensuring compliance within ESG frameworks without sacrificing the bottom line. His vision is to create a holistic, sustainable business and operating environment.
