Souraki SIMA is a multi-skilled computer scientist with over 15 years of experience in technology and digital innovation. Currently serving as Head of Digital Transformation at Énergie du Mali (EDM S.A), the national electricity utility of Mali, he specializes in creating secure and integrated IT environments that align with organizational objectives and foster technological advancement. His combined technical and managerial expertise enables him to support EDM’s digital initiatives, streamline business processes, and lead transformation across departments.
Souraki’s career reflects a strong commitment to leveraging ICT for Development (ICT4D). He began as IT Manager at École Supérieure de Technologie et de Management, where he strengthened IT infrastructure, managed budgets, and improved operational efficiency. Since joining EDM, he has overseen customer management systems, tested and deployed software updates, and developed strategies to optimize digital tools. In 2021, he assumed his current leadership role, driving digital transformation projects, advising on strategic digital objectives, and mentoring teams in emerging technologies.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, he serves as a part-time lecturer at TECHNOLAB – ISTA, teaching courses in information systems, programming, and databases. A JICA scholar, he earned his master’s degree at the Kobe Institute of Computing (Japan) through the African Business Education Initiative for Youth (ABE Initiative).
