Shane has more than 25years of experience in the energy industry, spanning across the electricity as well as the oil and gas sectors. The early part of his career was spent at Eskom in South Africa where he fulfilled various roles in the power system planning and operations arena, as well as in project development. He transitioned to the oil and gas sector with a move to Saudi Aramco, followed by a stint at the South African energy giant Sasol. From 2020, Shane led the new power generation and IPP program at the City of Cape Town, followed by a role as the Head: Program Management at the IPP Office. He is currently employed as Chief Solution Architect of Huawei Digital Power Sub-Saharan Africa Region. Shane holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, a Master in Business Leadership degree from the UNISA School of Business Leadership and is a registered Professional Engineer.
