Snježana Prijić-Samaržija is the Rector of the University of Rijeka, Croatia. She is a full professor at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka, with main philosophical interests including epistemology, social philosophy, history of philosophy, and gender studies. She is the author and co-author of many publications, and she frequently participates in various projects promoting gender equality and equity in academia, and argues for initiatives promoting the development of European universities.
In 2020, she was elected to the Governing Council for the drafting of the European University Association (EUA) Strategy, and she was elected to the Bureau of the Steering Committee for Education Policy and Practices (CDPPE) at the Council of Europe, as a representative of the academic community. She is also a member of the YUFE Strategy Board, and in September 2021, she commenced her two-year term as YERUN President.
