Mr M. Wa-Kyendo is the Chief Transport Engineer in the African Development Bank in charge of transport programs in Ethiopia, Djibouti and Eritrea and has been the Officer-in-Charge of the Ethiopia Country Office of the Bank since Jan 2017. Mr Wa-Kyendo, based in Addis Ababa, holds a MBA, MSC and First Class BSC degrees in Transport and Civil Engineering and a certificate in Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He has 28 experience in the transport sector spanning the whole project cycle (project technical design, appraisal , implementation, management and leadership). Mr Wa-Kyendo has knowledge and experience including in transport service and logistics and its application in trade and regional integration. Since joining the Bank in 2005, Mr Wa-Kyendo has led project appraisal teams and managed a portfolio of 16 major transport projects in 8 countries (Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Djibouti ) and involved in projects and strategy activities in 6 other countries (Sierra Leone, Lesotho, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Eretria, Somalia). Key projects include such transport corridor as Ethiopia-Kenya , Kenya –Tanzania, Ethiopia – Djibouti – South Sudan, and others
