At the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), we’re accelerating Australian research and innovation by driving excellence in the creation, analysis and retention of high-quality data assets. We partner with the research community and industry to build leading-edge digital research infrastructure to provide Australian researchers with competitive advantage through data.
Our strategy was developed following extensive nation-wide consultations through which we gained a deep understanding of the research community’s needs, and aligns with national government priorities. We are delivering leading-edge digital research infrastructure through 3 Thematic Research Data Commons and underpinning services and activities:
- People Research Data Commons: National scale data infrastructure for health research and health translation
- Planet Research Data Commons: National scale data infrastructure for earth and environmental research and decision making
- Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) and Indigenous Research Data Commons: Harnessing research data to enhance Australian social and cultural wellbeing, and help Australia understand and preserve our culture, history and heritage
- ARDC Nectar Research Cloud: Australia’s national research cloud, specifically designed for research computing and providing underpinning cloud computing infrastructure for the ARDC’s Thematic Research Data Commons and other servics
- National Information Infrastructure: Providing research data and information services including online data discovery services, identifier services and a vocabulary development and discovery service
- Skills: ARDC provides national leadership in Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) skills.
