Tariro Mutizwa, FCMA, CGMA, is currently Vice President – Africa at The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the world’s leading and largest professional body of management accountants. Tariro leads the CIMA’s strategy in Africa, fuelling the organisation’s growth on the continent and across the world. This includes work to encourage new entrants to the profession, supporting students and members, and partnering with universities, employers, regulators, and governments. Tariro's career spans over two decades, marked by successful leadership and management roles. A significant portion of her career was spent in consulting at PwC, where she managed business development, client relationships, and the delivery of contracted work. She also held positions at Anglo-American and Hudaco Industries in audit and risk management roles. At Hudaco Industries, she led the risk management and audit function, contributing significantly to strategic risk management and corporate governance. Passionate about making a sustainable impact in Africa, Tariro believes strongly in education and supports initiatives aimed at upskilling individuals to enhance the continent’s economic prospects. Tariro holds the Fellow Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designations from CIMA. Additionally, she is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe, the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, and holds an MBA from Oxford Brookes University and has recently completed Master of Studies in Social Innovation from the University of Cambridge Judge Business School.
