Mariette Boerstoel-Streefland, MD, MBA, MSc(epi), has been in the pharmaceutical industry for 35 years, and is currently SVP, Worldwide Patient Safety Officer at BMS. Mariette joined pharma industry from clinical practice in 1989 and held various leadership positions in drug safety at Organon (now Merck), Mayne Pharma/Hospira (now Pfizer), Forest Labs (now AbbVie). Baxter/Baxalta/Shire (now Takeda), Alexion/AZ. In August 2023 she joined BMS to lead the Patient Safety organization and be part of the Drug Development Leadership team. Mariette has an MD degree from the University of Utrecht, a MSc Pharmaco-Epidemiology from McGill University Montreal/University of Utrecht, and an MBA from NY Institute of Technology/Ellis College.
