Dr Hank Harris, President, Harrisvaccines & Merck Animal Health

Dr. Harris is one of the world's foremost authorities on infectious diseases of swine and related pathogens in people. In the 1970s, he discovered and named the cause of swine dysentery.  In the early 1980's, he was one of the founders and a CEO of NOBL Laboratories, an animal health vaccine company that was acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica. In the late 1980's, he was vice president of PIC USA, Inc. (formerly Pig Improvement Company), a worldwide leader in pig breeding and genetics.  While at PIC Dr. Harris introduced the concept of multiple site production to the swine industry, an approach now adopted globally.  Hank is an emeritus professor of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University.
