Mats Carrgard is the Senior Vice President Business Performance for Virgin Mobile Middle East & Africa (VMMEA), where he is leading the company’s journey to become fully data-driven and data-centric. This includes strategy and implementation of a variety of initiatives covering Data Management, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Customer Value Management and Digital Performance. The focus of all the initiatives is to harness the value of VMMEA’s rich data streams as a telecom services provider and generate value for the organization through increased revenues and customer acquisition, better and faster decision-making and automation of key processes.
Mats has been in the Middle East telecoms industry since 2001, holding various positions  with telecom operators (MNO and MVNO) as well as vendors/service providers. He has held roles in various areas ranging from management consultancy to commercial management. He has a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management.
