Sascha Westermann, Head Of Its Pmo, Hamburger Hochbahn

As Traffic Engineer, Sascha developed among others the Masterplan Road Traffic for the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) in 2010. From 2012 to 2017, Sascha was in charge for the development of a holistic Intermodal Traffic Management for the port of Hamburg. The core of the intermodal Management System has initially been the intelligent management of the road traffic. One of the most important projects in this context is smartPORT logistics (SPL), an IT-based platform for logistics.A key task was to make the transport infrastructure in the port more intelligent and to link them to the users. Since 2017, he has been in charge of the Project Management Office (PMO) for the ITS Projects of the City of Hamburg. Hamburg is professionalizing its ITS activities, and the PMO is coordinating the various ITS projects of the city.   The ITS PMO is located at the Hamburger Hochbahn AG, the Public Transport Provider of the City of Hamburg. In this context Sascha is also passionate about new initiatives such as Mobility as a Service (MaaS).
