Charles Hoskins, Senior Director, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport

As Senior Director of SPT, Charles Hoskins is responsible for delivery of the £288 million modernisation programme for Glasgow Subway which includes smart card ticketing, station refurbishments, track and tunnel infrastructure improvements, new trains, operational control centre and new fully automated signalling.

He also has overall responsibility for the safe operation and maintenance of Glasgow Subway day-to-day as well as overseeing SPT’s strategic and organisational development.  This includes delivering SPT’s transport policy, strategy and planning functions, delivery of the region wide capital programme of transport projects for road, freight, rail, bus, interchanges, ferry, park and ride, walking and cycling improvements.
