Babakalli Ankali, Assistant Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Glasgow

Dr Babakalli is a Reader in Maintenance Engineering and the Assistant Head of Department in Mechanical Engineering at Glasgow Caledonian University. He is leading the Maintenance and Reliability Engineering group at Glasgow Caledonian University. Babakalli is currently leading a research project in excess of 0.6 million pounds on maintenance optimisation and data analytics of railway rolling stock in Scotland. His specific research are in the area of: Railway Asset Management, Predictive Maintenance and Big Data Analytics, Maintenance Optimisation, Failure Analysis, Reliability and Maintenance Modelling, Human Reliability, Stochastic processes, Risks and Availability Assessment, Condition Based Maintenance, Maintenance Audit of Complex Systems. Babakalli has published over 100 scholarly papers in international journals.

Global Project Roundtables

At each round table, the project leader will talk for 5 minutes, following the format as below
  • Project introduction, highlighting particular challenges specific to that project
  • Project progress, emphasising supplier and partner relations
  • Project summary – what would we do differently if we tackled this project again?
The table will then move on to discussion for 25 minutes.
There will then be one rotation, giving participants the opportunity to have joined two round tables in total
