Turki I. Almugaiteeb, Ph.D. is the  Director of Healthcare and Life Science Division at RPDC. Prior to that, he completed his post-doctorate at the University of Texas in Biomedical Engineering where he designed an innovative device that can isolate cancer stem cells for drug discovery research and screening, this work is under patent processing.

Additionally, Dr. Almugaiteeb has few years of experience in the industry at SABIC where he led few engineering projects before perusing his Ph.D. in nanoscience/nanotechnology from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Industrial experience supported his efforts to work on new projects within RPDC bio-hubs strategies. During his Ph.D. program, he worked on a project funded by the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA) under the department of energy (DoE) in the USA. The US national project focused on the study of Nano-magnetism materials to substitute rare earth metals in permanent-magnet motors for wind turbine and Electrical vehicle cars. Furthermore, the project attracted MOOG company attention to continue funding his research for weapon industry applications. His diverse experience in different projects assists him to offer excellent project management practices that will lead to successful projects within the bio-hubs projects.

Dr. Almugaiteeb is managing with his colleagues the establishment of strategic bio-hubs at RPDC where he started working on Saudi Biomanufacturing Vaccine Center national project. The development of Saudi Vaccine and Biomanufacturing Centre is in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 framework, which aims to accelerate Saudi technologies and create jobs in biomedical and other advanced fields. The facility will help to localize biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing industry in the region. Consequently, Dr. Almugaiteeb is attempting to advance international partnership through this first of its kind biomanufacturing center in the region.

Dr. Almugaiteeb has a driving passion to see innovations developed by other scientists transferred for market commercialization.
