Gisele Miranda, Scientific Advisor, Fiocruz

Gisele Corrêa Miranda is a technological and scientific advisor at Bio-Manguinhos / Fiocruz, an institute of the Brazilian MoH. She has earned the master degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering with focus in packaging engineering and is graduated in product and graphic design. She has been working for Bio-Manguinhos / FIOCRUZ since 1998, having leaded the institute’s packaging development team for more than a decade, designing packaging solutions for vaccines, biopharmaceuticals, and IVD targeting the public health programs in Brazil. She has also large experience with packaging equipment projects for aseptic filling, labelling and packaging lines, as well as with cold chain management and knowledge management projects. She has been the DCVMN (Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers Network) representative and advisor for 11 years at WHO’s advisory groups regarding vaccine packaging and logistics, such as the VPPAG (Vaccine Product and Packaging Advisory Group), the OPTIMIZE Project PAG (Project Advisory Group), and the IPAC (Immunization Practices Advisory Group). She currently coordinates the International Symposium on Immunobiologicals.
