Based in Dublin, Ireland, Latch Medical is a venture funded company with a platform microneedle technology. In summary, the technology is centred around opposing arrays of angled microneedles that can nearly painlessly penetrate the outer layers of the skin in a manner ensuring consistent needle penetration and without the use of any adhesive. The platform can be utilised in a number of different ways, with the company’s initial focus on catheter securement. Additional applications are in drug delivery, wearables and biosensing.
