Samir Wildemann is one of Thailand’s most knowledgeable and experienced hoteliers. He is currently General Manager and Corporate Executive Officer at The Okura Prestige Bangkok, a five star property with 240 rooms and suites that employs more than 350 staff. He joined the Okura Group in 2011 as the hotel’s first member of staff and oversaw the opening in May 2012 of Thailand’s first hotel under the famous Japanese brand. His previous experience in Thailand includes General Manager positions with Carlson, Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts and Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts in Bangkok, Koh Samui and Phuket. Samir Wildemann has also worked in, Singapore, Hong Kong, Senegal and France. He graduated in 1987 from the Klessheim School of Hotel Management and Tourism in Salzburg having spent a considerable portion of education in India, Thailand and Japan. He says, “The 10 years that I spent at school in Tokyo gave me a remarkable insight to Japanese culture and tradition. This is now paying real dividends in my roles at The Okura Prestige Bangkok.”
