Clayton Irvine is the Senior Manager of Oncology Cancer Care Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he leads daily pharmacy operations within the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center. Clayton currently serves as an appointed committee member for the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders and  Chair for the Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) Practice Management Program Committee. He is also actively engaged in the Value, Quality, and Compliance Subcommittee for the Vizient Pharmacy Network and the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Clayton’s practice interests are centered around oncology/hematology. He is passionate about expanding and optimizing access to quality cancer care for patients of all types and means. He led the implementation of Mayo Clinic’s and the state of Minnesota’s first IV chemotherapy compounding robot, which has helped accommodate meaningful increases in patient treatment capacity and volumes. Additionally, he has worked on streamlining the development of chemotherapy advanced preparation programs, capturing productivity metrics within the oncology infusion center, and expanding the role of clinical pharmacists in the oncology pharmacy space.
