Dr Marie-Paule LeFranc, Professor Emeritus, Universite De Montpellier

Marie-Paule LEFRANC (Ph.D.) is professor emeritus of the University of Montpellier (UM), senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France, head of the Laboratoire d'ImmunoGénétique Moléculaire (LIGM), created with Gérard Lefranc, at Montpellier in 1982, the lab being now part of the Institut de Génétique Humaine (CNRS-UM). She has authored over 300 scientific publications in human genetics, molecular immunogenetics of immunoglobulins  and T cell receptors, antibody engineering and immunoinformatics. She is the founder and director of IMGT®, the international ImMunoGeneTics information system®, (CNRS-UM). By its creation in 1989, IMGT® marked the advent of immunoinformatics, a new science at the interface between immunogenetics and bioinformatics.
