Guanghui received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He completed his post-doctoral research at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine under Dr. Gerald Hart. Guanghui's research was focused on understanding the role of O-GlcNAcylation in disease, a modification discovered in the Hart lab, and specifically he worked on methods for enrichment and detection of the modification in kinases and roles in the crosstalk between glycosylation and phosphorylation.
Guanghui joined Genentech in 2014, and his group aims to develop and apply MS based technologies for characterization of therapeutic molecules, and especially interrogating non-covalent interactions & large molecule complexes. His recent work includes development of a high throughput LC-MS based platform to precise quantification of mixtures of bispecific IgG produced in single host cells, development of online SEC-Native MS platform for quantitative determination of protein-ligand affinity, and development of new methodologies for the characterization of PEG material and PEG conjugates.
