Melissa Carson, Director of Teaching & Learning, Champagnat Catholic College

Melissa Carson is the Director of Teaching and Learning at Champagnat Catholic College Maroubra. She has held many leadership positions in both curriculum and pastoral care. Melissa has a passion for research and has led several large projects on school improvement, instructional leadership, and change management. Melissa is interested in effective educational policy and practice and is committed to creating an environment where people can excel. She led a team of colleagues in the inaugural round of the Association of Independent Schools, NSW, Action Research Projects.

Melissa co-authored the article, 'Pulling no Punches: Change Management at Oakhill College', published in The International Journal Of Educational Organization and Leadership. Melissa was a recipient of a Leadership Award by the NSW branch of the Australian Council of Educational Leadership in 2015 and a Teacher’s Guild of New South Wales award in recognition of her work in literacy and parental engagement in 2019.
