In November 2012 over 200 delegates participated in the 13th Annual World Vaccine Congress Lyon in France. This event brings together vaccine leaders and policy makers from around the globe. Attendees at this highly successful event were fortunate enough to hear this exciting presentation delivered by Emanuele Montomoli from the Lab. of Molecular Epidemiology, University of Siena entitled: ‘Vaccine development formulation with adjuvants’

This presentation discusses vaccine development formulation through the use of Adjuvants. “Adjuvants (taken from the Latin, “adjuvare,” meaning “to help”) are designed to improve poorly immunogenic vaccines. Adjuvants were originally described by Ramon as ‘substances used in combination with a specific antigen that produced a more robust immune response than the antigen alone. “
