The vaccine commercialization timeline spans from phase 1 trials to the launch. The challenges include: speed to market, large at launch capacity, representative commercial facility needed and the need to defer early investment to reduce sunk cost. The opportunities often outweigh the challenges: for example, multi-use facilities and modular design.
